The first Mau I acquired was Ardram Silver Chephren (Lucy) from the late Marjory Draper. I then bred Santillo Silver Mymaugirl (Jazzy) and Santillo Nafretiri (Tiri) from her. From Tiri came a lovely smoke girl, Santillo Safiya. I have had some truly beautiful litters of Mau kittens. All my Maus have been really wonderful mothers and I am pleased to say that they had some beautiful kittens in 2006 and 2007 sired by my handsome boy, Fero.

Four kittens from Lucy’s first litter. |

Lucy with her first litter only around 12 hours old—and looking a little ‘shell-shocked’. Note how dark the kittens look when first born. It was my first litter of Maus too, and I thought I maybe had a litter of all smokes! In fact they were all silvers. |

Above: Tiri with her first litter. There were silver spotties, smokes and tabbies. Only silver spotted or smoke spotted can be registered as Egyptian Maus. The tabby pattern does appear in some Mau litters and they are so stunning that, although not strictly Maus, they are often the first to be chosen as pets. |

Spots, spots and more spots…. |

This is my smoke girl, Santillo Safiya. She is a lovely pale smoke showing distinct spotting. She also has a tremendous temperament and wants to be involved in everything you are doing! She certainly has lots of personality! |
